eat: RUBY'S - SEATTLE, EUA

Hoje conhecemos o Ruby's, um tipico "diner" americano ou talvez um franchising de um tipico "diner" americano. Mas isso pouco importa, para quem nunca conheceu nenhum verdadeiro, este serve perfeitamente.

Tudo era perfeito, tudo relembra a época dourada deste tipo de restaurantes. Viémos para um "brunch", chegámos ontem á noite a Seattle, estávamos ainda um pouco atordoados com o "jet lag" e por isso um "brunch" vinha mesmo a calhar, era um pequeno-almoço tomado a horas de almoço e o Ruby's era o lugar ideal para isso.

 

Today we discovered Ruby's, a typical american diner or perhaps a franchise of a typical american diner. But it hardly matters, who never met any real, this works fine.
Everything was perfect, everything recalls the golden age of this type of restaurants. We came to brunch, we arrived last night in Seattle, we were still with a little stunned with the "jet lag" and therefore brunch would really be nice, it was a breakfast taken the hours of lunch and Ruby's was the place for it.

VISEU, PORTUGAL

Viseu é uma cidade que fui conhecendo ao longo do tempo e desde a primeira visita que sempre adorei a cidade.

Era mais pequena que Lisboa, as pessoas conheciam-se e enchiam as ruas, havia sempre as feiras para os emigrantes que animavam ainda mais a cidade.

 

Viseu is a city that I got to know over time and from the first visit that I always loved the city.
It was smaller than Lisbon, people knew each other and filled the streets, there was always the fairs for migrants that animated the city even more.

PRAÇA DE ESPANHA - SEVILHA, ESPANHA

Construída no final dos anos 20 pela ocasião da Feira Mundial que Sevilha partilhou data com Barcelona, a Praça de Espanha foi dos locais que visitámos hoje nesta cidade que mais me marcou.

A sua dimensão, a sua imponência mas creio que o que mais entusiasma é o detalhe. Como os dois "heraldos" adornam o edificio (ver 2ª foto), não percebi muito bem o que eram pela descrição deu-me a entender que era como assistentes ou secretários de membros da nobreza, eram mensageiros, jornalistas da época (talvez a inspiração para nomes de jornais como The Herald), organizam a logistica que envolviam as festas da época...eram "party planners" talvez.

Built in the late 20s by the time of the Seville World Fair date the city shared with Barcelona, the Spanish square was one of the places we visited today in this city that struck me the most.
Its size, its magnificence but I think what is the most exciting is the detail. Like the two "heralds" adorn the building (see 2nd foto) do not quite understand what was the description led me to believe that they were like as assistants or secretaries of members of the nobility, they were messengers, journalists of the time (perhaps the inspiration for the names of journals as The Herald), organized the logistics involving the parties of the time ... so they were "party planners" maybe.

REALES ALCAZARES - SEVILHA, ESPANHA

Hoje conhecemos...os Reales Alcazares de Sevilha. Este agrupamento de edificios palacianos acaba por revelar uma interessante mistura de arquitecturas e culturas, como por exemplo a construção árabe e gótica, passando depois por reformas que lhes conferem detalhes barrocos e renascentistas.

Entrámos pela Puerta del León que antes se chamava de la Montería.

Today we have discovered ... the Reales Alcazares of Seville. This group of palatial buildings ends up revealing an interesting mix of cultures and architectures, such as Arabic and Gothic construction, then after, it's reforms give Baroque and Renaissance details.
We entered the Puerta del León formerly called de la Monteria.

do: MUSEU DO PRADO - MADRID, ESPANHA

Ir a Madrid vezes sem conta e não conhecer este museu é no mínimo uma contra-ordenação grave. É essencial para conhecer a história do país e como a arte o influenciou e documentou.

Os fans de Diego Velázquez encontram aqui as suas obras mais importantes entre elas o famoso quadro "Las Meninas". Podemos tirar fotos dentro do museu (felizmente!!) mas sem flash (regra que devemos respeitar).

 

Going to Madrid over and over again and not know this museum is at least a serious offense. It is essential to know the history of the country and how art has influenced and documented it.
The fans of Diego Velázquez find their most important works including the famous painting "Las Meninas." We can take pictures inside the museum (thankfully!!) But without flash (we must respect rule).

do: LITTLE VENICE - MYKONOS, GRÉCIA

Um dos locais mais turísticos da ilha, proporciona um pôr-do-sol magnifico enquanto estamos sentados em qualquer uma das suas esplanadas a beber um copo.

O nome de "Pequena Veneza" vem da sua construção junto ao mar e com as peculiares varandas em madeira com vista desafogada.

One of the best tourist places of the island, provides a setting for the magnificent sunset while sitting in any of its terraces having a drink.
The name "Little Venice" comes from its construction by the sea and with the peculiar wooden balconies with panoramic views.

sleep: HOTEL LADY ANNA - MYKONOS, GRÉCIA

Localizado junto á praia de Yialos, é um simpático hotel em que a recepção se faz junto á praia e os apartamentos estão do seu lado esquerdo.

Os quartos (pelo menos o nosso) era pequeno e sem grandes luxos, mas a verdade é, se estamos em Mykonos só precisamos mesmo de um quarto para dormir porque passamos lá muito pouco tempo. 

Located near the beach of Yialos, it's a friendly hotel where the reception is done near the beach and the apartments are on your left. The room (at least  ours) was small and without great luxuries, but the truth is, if we are in Mykonos we only really need a room to sleep because we spent very little time in there.
