do: DUAS TORRES - BOLONHA, ITÁLIA

São a Asinelli e a Garisenda. Na época da sua construção (século XII) eram símbolos do poder das varias familias que dominavam a cidade de Bolonha e eram utilizadas como postos defensivos.

Hoje é possível subir ao topo da Asinelli, são quase quinhentos degraus e 97 metros de altura. Quando visitámos Bolonha decorriam obras de recuperação.

 

They are Asinelli and Garisenda. At the time of its construction (twelfth century) they were symbols of power of the various families who ruled the city of Bologna and were used as defensive positions.
Today it is possible to climb to the top of Asinelli, there are nearly five hundred steps and 97 meters high. When we visited Bologna in was under construction to recover it.

do: CASTELO DE CHAMBORD - FRANÇA

Não demorámos muito desde Orleães até chegar á zona de Chambord. O trajecto é algo de maravilhoso, tudo á volta é verde ou amarelo ou lilás ou tudo junto se tivermos sorte.

A beleza do lugar era tal que até nos perdemos num desses campos floridos, até percebemos que estávamos numa estrada sem saída á nossa frente só entraria um tractor.

Sabemos que estamos no lugar centro quando uma placa nos diz: "Domaine National de Chambord".

Tínhamos visitado Versalhes antes, poderia ter retirado a Chambord o seu devido protagonismo. Mas não. É único e especial, para não falar no seu entorno, no lago com os barcos e de toda natureza que o rodeia. É grandioso e dá que pensar que tenha sido construído para servir de alojamento real para quando o Rei saía para caçar.

 

Not much since we spent Orleans until you reach the area of Chambord. The route is something wonderful, everything will turn it green or yellow or purple or all together if we're lucky.
The beauty of the place was such that until we get lost in these flowery fields, until we realized we were at a dead end road ahead will only enter a tractor.

A Rue du Marroquin é uma animada rua no centro de Estrasburgo que vai desde as margens do Rio Ill até á Praça da Catedral. O percurso é estreito e pitoresco, com as já famosas casas de estilo alsaciano, restaurantes atractivos e lojas de “souvenirs”.

Os restaurantes típicos convidam a entrar, com as suas esplanadas na rua e as suas fachadas que pararam no tempo, servem aos seus clientes as iguarias da região, como o famoso "choucroute" mas também se pode provar a famosa sopa de cebola francesa.

The Rue du Marroquin is a busy street in central Strasbourg stretching from the banks of the Ill river until the Cathedral Square. The path is narrow and picturesque, with the already famous Alsatian style houses, restaurants and attractive souvenir shops.
The typical restaurants invite you to come with its terraces in the street and their façades have stopped in time,they serve customers with delicacies of the region, such as the famous "choucroute" and you can taste the famous French onion soup.

do: PLACE SAINTE EUGENIE, BIARRITZ - FRANÇA

A principal atracção desta praça é a Igreja de Sainte Eugenie, construída em honra da santa patrona da Imperatriz Eugenie, a mulher de Napoleão III. De estilo neo-gótico foi construída no século XIX.

A Eugenie de Montijo (nasceu em Espanha) passava muitos verões em Biarritz e ficava instalada "Villa Eugenie" que hoje em dia dá lugar ao famoso Hotel du Palais.

 

The main attraction of the square is the Church of Sainte Eugenie, built in honor of the patron saint of the Empress Eugenie, wife of Napoleon III. With a neo-Gothic style was built in the nineteenth century.
Eugenie de Montijo (born in Spain) spent many summers in Biarritz and stayed at "Villa Eugenie" which today gives way to the famous Hotel du Palais.

shop: RUE DU VIEUX MARCHE AUX POISSONS - ESTRASBURGO, FRANÇA

Junto á Praça Gutenberg está uma animada rua de comércio, a Rue du Vieux Marche aux Poissons (Velho Mercado do Peixe) que termina na margem do Rio Ill.

Mais do que as montras das lojas o que realmente enche o olho é a arquitectura alsaciana dos edificios da rua, mas se o objectivo é mesmo compras não faltam propostas interessantes como a Ventilo, a Kenzo, a Comptoir des Cotonniers e a Petit Bateau, grande parte são marcas francesas mas aqui também encontramos uma Adolfo Dominguez por exemplo. 

 

Near the square Gutenberg is a lively shopping street, the Rue du Vieux Marche aux Poissons (Old Fish Market) ending on the river Ill.
More than the shop windows which really fills the eye is the Alsatian architecture of the buildings from the street, but if the goal is really shopping there are very interesting like Ventilo, the Kenzo, the Comptoir des Cotonniers and Petit Bateau, largely French brands but here we also find a Adolfo Dominguez for example.

do: PLACE DU MARCHE AUX COCHONS DE LAIT - ESTRASBURGO, FRANÇA

Foi uma das coisas que gostámos em Estrasburgo, as pequenas praças com charme e as ruas estreitas ladeadas por edificios de arquitectura típica da Alsácia. A Place du Marche aux Cochons de Lait, é um desses exemplos, pequena mas cheia de encanto.

 

It was one of the things we liked in Strasbourg, small squares with charm and narrow streets lined with buildings of architecture typical of Alsace. The Place du Marche aux Cochons de Lait, is one such example, small but full of charm.

do: PRAÇA DA CATEDRAL - ESTRASBURGO, FRANÇA

É certo que é a Catedral que lhe confere o nome e a relevância, mas esta praça é provavelmente uma das com mais charme de toda a cidade. Os edificios mantêm a arquitectura típica da região da Alsacia. É como muitas praças, um lugar de comércio e de grande interesse cultural. 

 

Admittedly, it is the Cathedral which gives the name and relevance, but this square is probably one of the most charming of the entire city. The buildings retain the architectural style of the region of Alsace. It's like many squares, a place of commerce and of great cultural interest.
