do: PLACE BELLECOUR - LYON, FRANÇA

Depois do pequeno-almoço entrámos na Place Bellecour, a sua dimensão é impressionante e é a terceira maior praça de França.

Mas infelizmente a dimensão não chega para impressionar, a verdade é que apesar do belíssimo enquadramento dos edificios da praça, falta-lhe mais arvoredo ou algo que a torne mais agradável principalmente por ser tão grande acaba por se tornar vazia.

Talvez haja um motivo para que assim seja, sabemos que aqui se fazem muitos eventos ao longo do ano e por isso espaço acaba por se tornar mais funcional.

After breakfast we went into the Place Bellecour, it's size is impressive and is the third biggest square of France.
But unfortunately the size is not enough to impress, the truth is that despite the beautiful environment of the buildings of the square, it lacks more trees or something that would make it more enjoyable mainly because it is so big that eventually becomes empty.
Maybe there's a reason for it to be, we know that are many events held here throughout the year and the space eventually becomes more functional.

do: CALLE MAYOR - MADRID, ESPANHA

Para quem visita a parte mais antiga de Madrid, a Calle Mayor é essencial uma vez que faz a ligação entre o Palácio Real e Catedral de Almudena até á Plaza Mayor e a Puerta del Sol. Uma rua que junta alguns dos principais pontos de interesse da cidade. Também por isso, percorrê-la é garantir mais conhecimento sobre a história de Madrid já que é das ruas mais antigas. Ganhou maior relevância durante os reinados dos Habsburgo no século XVI. 

do: CATEDRAL DE SANTA MARIA DE ALMUDENA - MADRID, ESPANHA

Talvez não tenha sido o melhor dia para visitar a Catedral, estavam a decorrer umas celebrações da Divina Misericórdia o que significa que o acesso era limitado. Várias placas indicam que durante as missas ou celebrações não podemos fazer a visita, mas todos foram entrando e fotografando (alguns com usando o flash) enquanto o bispo fazia o seu sermão.

De todas as maneiras conseguimos entrar ainda que sem poder subir á cúpula ou ver o museu.

Está em frente ao Pátio de Armas do Palácio Real e as suas arquitecturas convivem em perfeita harmonia. Foi construída entre os séculos XIX e XX e foi consagrada pelo Papa João Paulo II.

 

It was problably not the best day to visit the Cathedral, they were making some celebrations for the Divine Mercy which meant that the access was limited. Several signs tell you that during mass or these celebrations we can't make a tour, but everyone was getting in and taking photos (some using flash) while the bishop was doing is serman.

Anyway we were able to get in but without climbing to the dome or see the museum.

It's located in front of the Army Courtyard from the Royal Palace and their arquitectures coexist in perfect harmony. Built in the XIX and XX centuries it was consecrated by Pope John Paul II.

do: PLAZA DEL ORIENTE - MADRID, ESPANHA

Talvez seja das praças que mais gente visita sem saber exactamente o seu nome, creio que estar ao lado do Palácio Real cujo protagonismo faz esquecer a sua beleza. O seu pequeno jardim em forma de parterre de estilo barroco vai dando abrigo a muitos turistas ou locais que procuram ali um espaço para descansar ou relaxar.

Mas há outras maneiras de fazer, á sua volta estão alguns restaurantes com excelentes esplanadas ou "terraza" como se diz por aqui.

REAL JARDIM BOTÂNICO - MADRID, ESPANHA

Visitámos o muito recomendado Real Jardim Botânico que fica ao lado do Museu do Prado. Entrámos pela Porta Murillo (dedicada ao pintor cuja estátua está em frente e separa o jardim do museu). As entradas custaram 2,5€ por pessoa.

Fornecem-nos um mapa mas logo há entrada está um que dá logo a entender a dimensão do jardim. Para quem gosta de plantas o ideal é dedicar uma tarde inteira (ou até um dia) para o visitar. 

eat: LA TAPERIA - MADRID, ESPANHA

Com o objectivo de visitar o Real Jardim Botânico, parámos no bar de tapas La Taperia que fica bastante perto da entrada.

Localizado na Plaza Platería de Martinez (ao lado da Embaixada da República da Síria), tem uma excelente esplanada fora (que não utilizámos justamente porque havia uma manifestação em frente á referida embaixada cujo ruído iria tornar a refeição muito desagradável) e um interior renovado.

 

Aiming to visit the Royal Botanical Gardens, we stopped at the tapas bar La Taperia which is close to the entrance.
Located in Plaza Platería Martinez (next to the Embassy of the Republic of Syria), has a great terrace outside (which we did not use precisely because there was a demonstration in front of the embassy whose noise would not make the meal very unpleasant) and an renovated interior.

do: CASTELO DE MOTA - MEDINA DEL CAMPO, ESPANHA

Chegámos ao Castelo de La Mota depois de dar umas quantas voltas, não sabemos o que se passou deve ter sido a forma como saímos do centro de Medina del Campo que nos fez circular várias vezes vendo o castelo sem nunca conseguir lá chegar, parecia um labirinto.

Já no estacionamento em frente ao Castelo percebemos que estamos diante de um magnifico exemplar da construção bélica do século XIV. Estava fechado quando chegámos mas abria ás 16h pelo o que tivémos que esperar quase quarenta minutos.

We reached the Castle of La Mota after giving a few turns, we do not know what happened must have been the way we left the center of Medina del Campo that made us move several times seeing the castle without ever being able to reach it, looked like a maze.
Already in the parking lot in front of the castle we realized that we are facing a magnificent specimen of the war construction of the fourteenth century. It was closed when we arrived but it would open at 4pm we had to wait nearly forty minutes.
