eat: PIZZARIA LISBOA - LISBOA, PORTUGAL

A Pizzaria Lisboa é o primeiro restaurante do Zé Avillez que vou. É estranho porque é o último que abriu e não é nem alta cozinha, nem comida tradicional portuguesa, é uma pizzaria. O seu sonho de criança segundo pude ler.

Entrámos, sem reserva e conseguimos mesa. Tem bom ambiente e está na moda como o vizinho Cantinho de Avillez, por lá encontras algum famoso sentado numa mesa perto da janela a tentar passar despercebido.

 

The Pizzaria Lisboa is the first restaurant that I visited from Zé Avillez. It's weird because it's the last one that he opened and it's not haute cuisine, or traditional Portuguese food, it's a pizzeria. His childhood dream has I could read.
We entered without a reservation and got a table. It has good atmosphere and is trendy as the neighbor's Cantinho de Avillez, there you can find some famous sitting at a table near the window trying to be unnoticed.

eat: CAIS DA PEDRA - LISBOA, PORTUGAL

Cá por Madrid os hamburguers (principalmente os gourmet) continuam na moda e são o tema de novos restaurantes. Em Lisboa pelos vistos também estão e seguramente o Cais da Pedra ajudará a construir a reputação de um formato dominado pelas cadeias de fast-food.

Devo admitir que quando marquei mesa no Cais nem sabia que o prato principal era esse, sabia apenas que era do Henrique Sá Pessoa e como tive uma boa experiência no Alma decidi experimentar. Foi num dia especial (o meu aniversário), fui com amigos o que o melhorou e muito a nossa experiência.

 

In Madrid the burgers (especially gourmet) are still popular and are the topic of new restaurants. In Lisbon apparently are also and surely Cais da Pedra will help build the reputation of a format dominated by fast-food chains.
I must admit that when I booked a table at the Cais I did not even know this was the main course, I knew only that it was Henrique Sá Pessoa and as I had a good experience at Alma so I decided to try. It was a special day (my birthday), I went with friends which improved and much our experience.

do: PALÁCIO DA AJUDA - LISBOA, PORTUGAL

A visita ao Palácio da Ajuda foi uma promoção 2x1, fomos ver a exposição da Joana Vasconcelos e acabámos por conhecê-lo por dentro algo que nunca tinha feito enquanto vivi em Portugal.

A sua construção inicia no século XVIII durante o reinado de D. José e no século XIX foi residência oficial da Familia Real, hoje em dia para além das salas que podemos visitar têm sede aqui alguns organismos públicos assim como a Biblioteca.

 

The visit to Ajuda Palace was like a 2x1 promotion, we went to see the exhibition of Joana Vasconcelos and we finally discover it something we had never done while living in Portugal.
Its construction started in the eighteenth century during the reign of King Joseph and in the nineteenth century  itwas the official residence of the Royal Family, today besides the rooms that we can visit some public offices are installed here as well as the Library.

do: EXPOSIÇÃO JOANA VASCONCELOS NO PALÁCIO DA AJUDA - LISBOA, PORTUGAL

Não estava nos nossos planos visitar esta exposição mas uma amiga recomendou-nos e fomos todos juntos. Já tinha lido sobre a Joana Vasconcelos o que me levou a visitar o Kit Garden no Largo do Intendente. Na altura chamou-me a atenção de ter sido a primeira artista feminina (e portuguesa) a ter uma exposição no Palácio de Versalhes, não sei terá ajudado o facto de ter nascido em Paris.

 

It was not in our plans to visit this exhibition but a friend recommended us and we all went together. I had read about Joana Vasconcelos which led me to visit the Garden Kit in Largo Intendant. At the time it called my attention the fact of being the first female artist (and Portuguese) to have an exhibition at the Palace of Versailles, the fact that she was born in Paris might actually helped.

eat: GELADOS CHEF NINO - LISBOA, PORTUGAL

Pelo menos um de nós (eu) reservou espaço para um gelado, depois da Cantina e do bolo de chocolate na Landeau. Porque isto de ir á LX Factory e não provar os gelados italianos do Chef Nino não é bem a mesma coisa, claro está que fazer dieta é impossível. Ainda assim consegui controlar-me e pedi apenas uma bola com dois sabores (2,5€).

 

At least one of us (me) has reserved some room for an ice cream after the Cantina and the chocolat cake in Landeau. Because this thing of going to the LX Factory and not taste the ice cream Italian Chef Nino is not quite the same thing of course is that doing a diet is impossible. Still I managed to control myself and asked only one scoop with two flavors (2,5 €).

eat: LANDEAU CHOCOLATE - LISBOA, PORTUGAL

Depois do almoço na Cantina reservámos o espaço da sobremesa para comer um bolo de chocolate na Landeau. O espaço é acolhedor repleto de preciosidades saídas de uma loja de antiguidades ou do Rastro, para além de provar o bolo tínhamos vontade de levar connosco alguma daquelas peças vintage que decoravam a Landeau e te faziam sentir em casa.

 

After lunch at Cantina we set aside some room for dessert to eat a chocolate cake in Landeau. The space is cozy is filled with gems out of an antique shop or the Rastro, in addition to tasting the cake we wanted to take with us some of those vintage pieces that decorated the Landeau and made ​​you feel at home.

eat: CANTINA - LISBOA, PORTUGAL

Há muito que queria voltar á LX Factory e principalmente queria conhecer a Cantina. Há muitos anos atrás comiam aqui os operários da fábrica de Mirandela, hoje recuperando um pouco esse espírito a Cantina oferece boa comida a preços acessíveis. Toda a sua decoração traz memórias antigas, as mesas gastas com as toalhas de plástico que nos habituámos a ver nas tascas e o forno a lenha, a estrela da casa e de onde sai um o pão tão bom que nos faz ter vontade de fazer toda uma refeição á volta dele.

 

I have long wanted to return to the LXFactory and mostly I wanted to go to the Cantina. Many years ago the Mirandela factory workers ate here, now recovering somewhat that spirit the Cantina offers good food at affordable prices. All it's decor brings back old memories, the old tables with plastic tablecloths that we were accustomed to seeing in taverns and the wood oven, the star of the house and the bread that comes out of it is so good that makes us want to do a whole meal just around it.
