eat: DIONISOS - MADRID, ESPANHA

Fomos passear por Madrid e a ideia era ir a Arguelles a um outro restaurante, acabámos por decidir ir ao Bairro das Letras que provavelmente é dos sitios com mais bares por metro quadrado e procurar um sitio para comer. Parámos á porta do Dionisos e veio uma saudade da comida grega que provámos na nossa lua-de-mel.

 

We strolled through Madrid and the idea was to go to Arguelles to another restaurant, we ended up deciding to go to Barrio de las Letras that is probably one of the sites with more bars per square meter and we were looking for a place to eat. We stopped at the door of Dionysus and a longing came for the Greek food we tasted in our honey-moon.

eat: EDUARDO DAS CONQUILHAS - PAREDE, PORTUGAL

O Eduardo das Conquilhas não é uma simples marisqueira é um exemplo de longevidade. Aproveitei para dar continuidade ao meu programa de emigrante para matar saudades de tudo aquilo que temos de genuíno no nosso país e uma das primeiras coisas na lista era comer Amêijoas á Bulhão Pato e Sapateira com o recheio aqui neste lugar.

 

Eduardo of Conquilhas is not a simple seafood joint it is an example of longevity. I took the opportunity to continue my emigrant program to try and experience once more everything that we have genuine in our country and one of the first things on the list was to eat Clams and Crab with the filling in this place.

Ao visitar o Parque Eduardo VII não pude evitar aquele sentimento de emigrante de orgulho tirando fotos a todos os detalhes e muitas á bandeira. É a típica situação de que quando deixas de viver naquela que era a tua cidade começas a valorizar lugares que nem nunca foram dos teus preferidos e este parque é um deles. Na realidade, passava por ele sem nunca lhe dar grande importância, sem nunca aproveitar a vista singular que tem sobre a cidade de Lisboa e a Margem Sul.

 

While visiting the Parque Eduardo VII I could not avoid that emigrant feeling of pride taking pictures of all the details and a lot to the flag. It is the typical situation when you stop living in what was your town you begin to appreciate places that never were your favorites and this park is one of them. In fact,I passed through it many times without ever giving it great importance, never enjoying the unique views it has over the city of Lisbon and South side.

eat: GELADOS DO SR. ANTÓNIO - LISBOA, PORTUGAL

Há sitios que te vendem gelados (uns saborosos outros não tanto), há outros que te vendem gelados com um sorriso e há ainda os que te vendem gelados, com um sorriso e uma boa história de vida. E assim nasce este post tão diferente de outros que faço porque normalmente falo de lugares mas aquifalo de pessoas. Os gelados podiam até saber a Sonasol que só pela simpatía do Sr. António eu compraria uns quantos, felizmente sabem bem e têm os meus cones preferidos da Progelcone, todo um clássico que vai dando voltas pelo Parque Eduardo VII.

 

There are places that sell ice cream (some other tasty other not so much), there are others that sell ice creams with a smile and there are also those who will sell ice creams, with a smile and a good life story. And so this post is born so different from the others that I do because usually I write about places but here I talk about people. do: BASILICA DE S. JORGE - PRAGA, REP. CHECA

Dizem ser a igreja mais antiga da zona do Castelo de Praga e a segunda mais antiga da cidade, apesar da sua fachada barroca o seu interior é de estilo românico. Foi construída no século X e fundada por Vratislav I cujo túmulo feito em madeira podemos ver antes de subir ás capelas no segundo patamar.

do: PILSNER URQUELL GALERIE - PRAGA, REP. CHECA

Depois do almoço e enquanto caminhávamos em direcção á Ponte Carlos encontrámos o Galerie Experience shop da marca de cerveja checa, Pilsner Urquell. Decidimos entrar depois de ver na montra as decoradas canecas de cerveja que lembravam as alemãs.

Até aqui em quase todos os sitios onde bebemos cerveja foi sempre desta marca que está no activo desde 1842.

 

After lunch and as we walked towards Charles Bridge we found the Galerie Experience shop of the Czech beer brand, Pilsner Urquell. We decided to go in after seeing the storefront the decorated beer mugs that resembled German ones.
Until now in almost all the places where we drank beer it was always this brand that is in active since 1842.

sleep: EUROSTARS THALIA HOTEL - PRAGA, REPÚBLICA CHECA

Depois de uma excelente experiência no Intercontinental parecia impossível que o Eurostars fosse melhor, são ambos de cinco estrelas mas o outro era pela maneira tradicional como oferece os seus serviços e o Thalia apesar de estar num edificio antigo tem quartos com uma decoração moderna sem abdicar do conforto.

Fica na Rua Narodní, não parece tão central como o outro mas estávamos a poucos minutos a pé da Ponte Carlos e perto do Teatro Nacional.

 

After a great experience at the Intercontinental seemed impossible that the Eurostars was better, they are both five stars but the other had a more traditional way to offer their services and Thalia despite being in an old building had rooms with a modern décor without sacrificing comfort .
It's on Narodni Street, does not seem as central as the other but we were a few minutes walk from Charles Bridge and near the National Theatre.
