do: EXPOSIÇÃO NANCY SE VISTE DE MODA - MADRID, ESPANHA

Ontem foi feriado em Espanha, celebrava-se o Dia da Constituição que aconteceu justamente no ano em que nasci, 1978. Por esse motivo, vários museus tinham entradas gratuitas e um deles foi o Museu do Traje. Aproveitei a "borla" para ir ver a exposição temporária da Nancy que celebra 45 anos como uma das bonecas preferidas das meninas espanholas.

O objectivo era associar a marca espanhola a esta tão icónica e que atravessou fronteiras, para isso juntaram 25 criadores para contribuir para a exposição.

 

Yesterday was a holiday in Spain, they celebrated the Constitution Day it actually happened in the year I was born, 1978. By that reason, several museums have free admission and one was the Costume Museum (Museo del Traje). I took advantage of the "freebie" to go see the temporary exhibition of Nancy celebrating 45 years as one of the Spanish girls preferred dolls.
The aim was to involve the Spanish Brand with this iconic doll that crossed borders, for it gathered 25 designers to contribute to this exhibition.

eat: A PADARIA PORTUGUESA - LISBOA, PORTUGAL

Tenho tanta mas tanta vontade de abrir uma A Padaria Portuguesa aqui em Madrid para poder ter á mão os pastéis de nata, o pão de ló de chocolate, as fatias de salame de chocolate, o pão acabado de fazer, os queques, o doce de abóbora, o pão com chouriço. Tudo o que tenho saudades da nossa boa pastelaria e que aqui lá vou encontrando substitutos mas não estão todos debaixo do mesmo tecto.

 

I have so much desire to open a The Portuguese Bakery here in Madrid in order to have nearby the custard cream tarts (pastéis de nata), chocolate sponge cake, slices of salami chocolate (salame de chocolate), freshly baked bread, muffins, the pumpkin jam, the chorizo bread. All that I miss from our good pastries that here I start finding some substitutes but are not all under the same roof.

eat: PIZZERIA MEZZOGIORNO - LISBOA, PORTUGAL

A Mezzogiorno foi outro restaurante que não estava nos nossos planos e aconteceu porque tivémos que prolongar a nossa reunião no hotel e no dia que estava a pesquisar restaurantes vi no Google maps este. Depois de um dia a provar a culinária portuguesa optámos por almoçar neste italiano cujo seu melhor cartão de visita é o forno a lenha que podemos ver assim que descemos as escadas.

 

The Mezzogiorno was another restaurant that was not in our plans and it happened because we had to extend our meeting at the hotel and in the day that I was searching for restaurants I saw this on Google maps. After a day tasting the Portuguese cuisine we opted for lunch at this Italian whose best visit card is the woodstove that we can see going down the stairs.

eat: THE DECADENTE - LISBOA, PORTUGAL

Depois da nossa aventura por Lisboa com os GoCar, fomos jantar ao The Decadente. Não foi a primeira vez mas esta foi sem dúvida melhor experiência que a primeira e creio que foi porque ia acompanhada de espanhóis que são apologistas do "compartir" o que me permitiu provar mais pratos deste mais que recomendado restaurante e que figura no guia de viagens da Louis Vuitton.

 

After our adventure through Lisbon with GoCar, we had dinner in The Decadente. It was not the first time but this was undoubtedly better experience than the first and I think that was because this time was accompanied by Spaniards that are big fans of sharing ("compartir") which allowed me to sample more dishes of this more than recommended restaurant recommended in the travel guide of Louis Vuitton.

eat: TABERNA DO CHIADO - LISBOA, PORTUGAL

O nosso primeiro almoço em Lisboa durante a reunião de trabalho foi na Taberna do Chiado, confesso que não estava na minha lista de restaurantes mas quando a agenda derrapou em timings optei por um restaurante que estava em frente ao Hotel do Chiado, com comida portuguesa e que não comprometesse. Foi uma óptima escolha!

 

Our first lunch in Lisbon during the workshop was the Taberna do Chiado, I confess I was not on my list of restaurants but when it skidded on the agenda timings opted for a restaurant that was in front of the Hotel do Chiado, with Portuguese food and not compromise. It was a great choice!

do: GO CAR TOURS - LISBOA, PORTUGAL

Durante a nossa reunião de trabalho em Lisboa havia espaço para fazer uma actividade que desse a possibilidade de conhecer a cidade. Primeiro pensaram no Bus turístico mas rápidamente chegámos ao GoCar. Além de ajudar a cumprir o primeiro objectivo, é uma forma divertida de o fazer e eu até diria com uma pontinha de aventura porque estamos a falar de motos a percorrer as sinuosas ruas de Lisboa.

 

During our workshop in Lisbon we had room to do an activity that made posible to see the city. First we thought about the Bus tour but quickly switched that idea for the GoCar. In addition to helping us fullfil the first objective, it is a fun way to do it and I would even say with a pinch of adventure, because we are talking about bikes roaming the winding streets of Lisbon.

sleep: HOTEL DO CHIADO - LISBOA, PORTUGAL

A primeira foto deste post é a que melhor ilustra o porquê de eu gostar tanto deste hotel sem nunca ter passado ali uma noite. Tem uma das melhores vistas sobre a cidade de Lisboa e quem aqui fica se tem um quarto como este terá sem dúvida uma excelente estadia.

Não tenho por hábito dormir num hotel quando vou visitar a familia, mas desta vez o que me levou a Portugal foi uma reunião de trabalho que me pediram para organizar e não hesitei. Recebi vários elogios pela minha escolha.

 

The first photo of this post is the one that best illustrates why I liked this hotel so much having never spent a night there. Has one of the best views over the city of Lisbon and who stays here and has a room like this will undoubtedly have a great stay.
I do not have the habit of sleeping in a hotel when I visit the family, but this time what took me to Portugal was a work meeting that I was asked to organize and did not hesitate. I received several compliments on my choice.
