do: TOP OF THE ROCK - NOVA IORQUE, EUA

Ao escrever este post e ao rever estas fotos tive vontade de voltar a Nova Iorque, a nossa visita ao observatório do edificio GE do Rockefeller Center foi um dos pontos mais altos de toda a viagem. Depois de conhecer o do Empire State Building posso dizer que o Top of the Rock é sem dúvida o favorito, para quem pode o melhor é conhecer os dois mas se temos que escolher um seria o último porque daqui podes ver o próprio Empire e realmente entender a dimensão do Central Park.

 

In writing this post and reviewing these photos I wanted to return to New York, our visit to the Centre of the GE building at Rockefeller Center was one of the highlights of the entire trip. Once we went to  the Empire State Building I can say that the Top of the Rock is undoubtedly the favorite, for those who can it is best to know both but if you have to choose one it would be the last because here you can see the Empire itself and really understand the size of Central Park.

eat: EL JARDIN SECRETO - MADRID, ESPANHA

Já não é um segredo grande porque rápidamente se tornou no sitio ideal para lanchar na zona de Conde Duque e é complicado conseguir mesa na hora de ponta. Mas nós conseguimos a perfeita, junto á janela porque fomos entre reservas. A ideia é que sintas que estás num jardim como o do filme do Jardim Secreto como se estivesses a entrar num mundo de magia com plantas, tecidos coloridos, balões de ar pendurados, estrelas, pássaros, etc..

 

It's not a big secret because quickly became the ideal for a snack in the Conde Duque area site and is hard to get table at rush hour. But we got the perfect, near the window because we were among reserves. The idea is that you feel you're in a garden like the movie The Secret Garden like you're entering a world of magic with plants, colorful fabrics, hanging balloons, stars, birds, etc. ..

eat: IL REGNO DI NAPOLI - MADRID, ESPANHA

Passeando pelo bairro da Malasaña tivémos um desejo de comer pizza e ao pesquisar encontrámos o Il Regno de Napoli perto da Praça do 2 de Maio. Não é muito grande por isso convém reservar mesa e a sua decoração é bastante simples em linha com muitos restaurantes italianos genuínos mais preocupados com o valor da comida que com o entorno em que a servem.

 

Strolling through the Malasaña neighborhood we had a sudden desire to eat pizza and searching for it we found the Il Regno Napoli near the Square 2 de Maio. Not very big so it is worth booking a table and the decor is quite simple in line with many authentic Italian restaurants concerned about the quality of their food than the environment in which they serve it.

eat: CAFETERIA HD - MADRID, ESPANHA

Visto de fora a Cafeteria HD parece um daqueles lugares "de toda la vida" como dizem os espanhois, o café do bairro que dia após dia vai perdendo a sua clientela jovem e ficam os fiéis, em algum momento dos seus mais de cinquenta anos de história era isto que estava a acontecer mas uma melhora do espaço mantendo-se fiel ao conceito original e uma carta melhorada ajudaram á sua longevidade.

 

From the outside the Cafeteria HD seems one of those places "de toda la vida" (that have been there forever) as the Spaniards say, the coffee house from neighborhood that day after day is losing it's young clientele and only the more loyal clients hang around, in its more than fifty years of story this was what was happening but an improvement inside while remaining faithful to the original concept and improving the menu helped to its longevity.

eat: BOSCO DE LOBOS - MADRID, ESPANHA

Já tinha ouvido falar do novo restaurante no jardim da Sede do Colégio de Arquitectos e adorei a ideia de celebrar aí o nosso aniversário de casamento. A sua localização é de facto um ponto forte, a beleza do pequeno jardim, a sua esplanada (muito concorrida por sinal) e o facto de ser todo em vidro deixando entrar a luz permitindo ao mesmo tempo aproveitar o seu entorno se não consegues mesa fora.

I've heard about the new restaurant on the grounds of the College of Architects Headquarters and loved the idea of celebrating there our wedding anniversary. Its location is in fact a strong point, the beauty of the small garden, its terrace (very busy by the way) and the fact that it was all-glass letting in the light while allowing you to enjoy the surroundings if you can not table outside.

do: HOFGARTEN - MUNIQUE, ALEMANHA

O caminho entre o nosso hotel e o centro da cidade obrigava a passar pelo o jardim Hofgarten e pela zona do Festsaalbau parte integrante do Residenz, o palácio da familia real. Chamou-nos a atenção pela sua tranquilidade, pelo templo que está ao centro e pela esplanada que convida a um café.

 

The path between our hotel and the city center forced us to go by the Hofgarten and the Festsaalbau area part of the Residenz, the palace of the royal family. It caught our attention for its tranquility, the temple it has in the center and the terrace that invites you to dring a coffee.

do: THEATINERKIRCHE - MUNIQUE, ALEMANHA

A igreja Teatina destaca pela sua colorida fachada na praça de Odeón, de estilo barroco foi construída no século XVII por dois arquitectos, o primeiro foi o italiano Agostino Barelli e depois o suiço Enrico Zuccalli deu continuidade ao seu trabalho. No seu interior chama a atenção a imensa luz que tem e os vários detalhes em estuque, foi consagrada no ano de 1675.

 

The Teatina church stands out for its colorful facade on the Odeon Square, it was built in Baroque style in the seventeenth century by two architects, the first was the Italian Agostino Barelli and then the Swiss Enrico Zuccalli continued his work. The inside the immense light draws our attention and also the stucco work, it was consecrated in the year 1675.
