THE HOVSE - MADRID, ESPANHA

Uma tarde de Domingo em Madrid com multidões nas lojas e ruas no centro faz com que o The Hovse seja o paraíso. Localizado na zona de Chamberí, é um pop-up market organizado pela Better os mesmos que trouxeram The Apartment e no Verão o The Patio. Transformaram o número 40 e os seus quatro pisos numa excelente montra para artistas, designers e pequenas empresas locais, claro que mesmo que vás sem intenção de comprar, sempre acabas por levar algo e no meu caso foram os guias do Walkwithme e um guia de Barcelona do Mr.Wonderful para oferecer uma grande amiga este Natal.

One Sunday afternoon in Madrid with crowds in the stores and streets in the center makes the The Hovse a paradise. Located in the Chamberí area, is a pop-up market organized by the Better the same who brought The Apartment and The Patio in the summer. Turned the number 40 and the four floors in an excellent showcase for artists, designers and local small businesses, of course you go even without intention to buy, but you end up taking something and in my case were the guides Walkwithme and Barcelona's guide by Mr.Wonderful to give a good friend this Christmas.

Faz parte da tradição do Natal madrilenho levar as crianças a ver o (curto) espectáculo da Cortylandia,  uma iniciativa do El Corte Inglês que começou em 1979 que funciona como se fosse um anúncio á cadeia (e principalmente ao mundo dos brinquedos), este ano o tema foi uma banda de pinguins e todos os anos há sempre uma grande antecipação sobre o que vão fazer.

 

It is part of Madrid's Christmas tradition take the kids to see the (short) show the Cortylandia, an initiative of the El Corte Ingles which started in 1979 that works like an ad campaign of the chain (and especially the world of toys), this year the theme was a band of penguins and every year there is always a great anticipation about what they will do.

PATIO DE LOS NARANJOS - SEVILHA, ESPANHA

Para além da Giralda, o Pátio dos Naranjos sobreviveu ao terramoto que no século XIV destruiu a mesquita anterior á catedral. As suas laranjeiras (naranjo) cuidadosamente plantadas distribuidas em seis filas dão a este pátio uma certa tranquilidade mas nem sempre foi assim já que na época em que foi construido era utilizado como se fosse um salão de actos religiosos e culturais.

GIRALDA - SEVILHA, ESPANHA

A Giralda é talvez o monumento mais emblemático de Sevilha e um dos porquês de adorar esta cidade, para além da boa comida, de outros monumentos que considero igualmente interessantes como a Plaza de España ou a Casa de Pilatos. A admiração pela arquitectura árabe possibilitou a sobrevivencia de este minarete que mesmo sob o dominio cristão não deixou de ter protagonismo. Foi construída no final do século XII na época do Al-Andalus e fazia parte de uma mesquita que foi destruída por um terremoto ao qual conseguiu sobreviver.

CATEDRAL DE SANTA MARÍA DE LA SEDE - SEVILHA, ESPANHA

Nesta segunda passagem por Sevilha, a visita á Catedral estava no topo da lista e foi o primeiro que fizémos. Tenho que dizer que fiquei espantada com a fila que tinha que a pesar de ser um dia de semana (2ª Feira) era feriado em Madrid e daqui tirei logo uma conclusão: vale a pena reservar os bilhetes antes. Patrimonio mundial, é o maior monumento gótico na Europa e no seu interior podemos encontrar os túmulos de importantes personagens da história espanhola como D. Pedro I de Castela, Felipe III e Cristovão Colombo. Para não falar da Giralda, o minarete da antiga mesquita que cedeu lugar á actual Catedral.

In this second time passi through Seville, the visit to the Cathedral was on the list and was the first we have done. I have to say I was amazed at the queue that it had despite being a weekday (Monday) it was a holiday in Madrid and soon we reached a conclusion: it is worth reserving tickets before. World Heritage Site, is the largest Gothic monument in Europe and inside we can find the graves of important figures of Spanish history such as D. Pedro I of Castile, Felipe III and Christopher Columbus. Not to mention the Giralda, the minaret of the old mosque that gave way to the present Cathedral.

LA AZOTEA SANTA CRUZ - SEVILHA, ESPANHA

Passámos um dia fantástico a passear por Sevilha onde comemos "de maravilha" principalmente porque fomos ao La Azotea na zona de Santa Cruz. Fica na Calle Mateos Gago, uma das mais interessantes a nível gastronómico com várias opções mas escolhemos este sitio porque já tinha visto boas recomendações no mundo online. A sua carta á base de tapas de autor, pratos típicos da região com produtos de qualidade e algum outro toque inovador são a chave do seu sucesso.

We spent a fantastic day out in Seville where we ate "de maravilha" mainly because we went to La Azotea in the Santa Cruz. It is on Calle Mateos Gago, one of the most interesting at a gastronomic level with several options but we decided to go to this place because I had seen good recommendations in the online world. It's menu is of author tapas, typical dishes of the region with quality products and some other innovative touches that are the key to your success.

Há algum tempo que tinha curiosidade em conhecer o Saporem um dos restaurantes da moda este ano no animado Bairro das Letras em Madrid. Fomos sem reservar mas chegámos cedo e conseguimos uma mas já estava complicado, tenho que confessar que o primeiro contacto não foi dos mais positivos mas rápidamente voltou tudo ao lugar e só posso dizer coisas boas. Íamos com crianças e os empregados foram nota vinte.

 

For some time I was curious to know the Saporem one of the trendy restaurants this year in the lively Barrio de las Letras in Madrid. We went without reservation but we arrived early and got a table but was already complicated, I have to confess that the first contact was not the most positive but quickly it all went to the right place and I can only say good things. We went with children and the employees were great.
