BODEGA DE SANTA CRUZ - SEVILHA, ESPANHA

Depois de subir ao topo da Giralda e apreciar a fantástica vista sobre Sevilha veio uma súbita vontade de tomar uma cerveja fresquinha, decidimos entrar pelo bairro de Santa Cruz e procurar um bar para o aperitivo. O escolhido foi a Bodega de Santa Cruz e tinha várias credenciais: está no top 50 dos restaurantes da cidade no ranking do TripAdvisor, boas tapas a bons preços.

After climbing to the top of the Giralda and enjoying the fantastic views of Seville came a sudden urge to have a cold beer, we decided to enter the neighborhood of Santa Cruz and look for a bar for an aperitif. The chosen was the Bodega Santa Cruz and had multiple credentials: is in the top 50 restaurants in the city on the TripAdvisor ranking, good tapas at good prices.

LOS PORFIADOS - MADRID, ESPANHA

Mais um Domingo de Rastro e desta vez decidimos comer em Lavapiés, para escapar ao tradicional cheiro a caril o Moharaj decidimos experimentar Los Porfiados. Junto ao seu logo está um slogan: "Comida hecha a mano" e é verdade, sais de este lugar com a confirmação que ás vezes as receitas mais simples são as melhores, as que mais te marcam e as que te fazem ter vontade de voltar. Gostei também da decoração, tinha bastante luz, pratos antigos como os que ando á caça no Rastro, mesas de madeira rústica e cadeiras nacionalidades diferentes.

Another Sunday in Rastro and this time we decided to eat in Lavapies, to escape the traditional smell of curry the Moharaj we decided to try Los Porfiados. Next to its logo there is a slogan: "Comida hecha a mano" (Handmade food) and it is true you get out of this place with confirmation that sometimes the simplest recipes are the best, they are the ones that impress you the most and that make you want to come back. Also liked the decor, had enough light, vintage plates like those I go hunting for in Rastro, rustic wooden tables and chairs of different nationalities.

THONG - MADRID, ESPANHA

O Thong é um dos poucos restaurantes chineses - sem ser os de buffet asiático - que conheço em Madrid, aliás no centro é o único e o outro é um perto do bairro onde vivemos. Estranhei a pergunta á entrada de se tínhamos reserva, fomos a um domingo desses que muitos preferem ficar em casa porque chove e a verdade é que ao entrar no restaurante estava vazio mas em pouco mais de quinze minutos encheu. Vêm pela boa comida e serviço correto.

The Thong is one of the few Chinese restaurants - without being the Asian buffet - I know in Madrid, actually in the city centre it's the only one and the other is near the neighborhood where we live. Strangely upon arrival we were asked if we had reservations, we went on a Sunday on of those many would prefer to stay at home because it was raining and the truth is that on entering the restaurant it was empty but in just over fifteen minutes filled. They come for good food and correct service.

FRANGUS - MADRID, ESPANHA

Uma manhã no Rastro a trocar cromos para a caderneta de futebol dos pequenos e á caça de pratos vintage para a coleção lá de casa abriu-nos o apetite. Mesmo ali ao lado está um restaurante cujos metros quadrados são como se fossem um pedacinho de Portugal a vinte minutos de nossa casa, o Frangus. Parece a típica casa de frangos assados como temos no nosso país com pasteis de nata, bacalhau, migas, etc..

One morning in the Rastro trading cards for a football book of our children and hunting for vintage plates back home collection opened the appetite. Right next door is a restaurant whose square meters are as if they were a piece of Portugal twenty minutes away from our house, the Frangus. It seems the typical baked chicken house as we have in our country with "pasteis de nata", cod, "migas", etc ..

EL GORDO DE VELÁZQUEZ - MADRID, ESPANHA

Num almoço com amigos ficámos a conhecer o El Gordo de Velázquez, o restaurante do chef José Maria Ibáñez o mesmo que ajudou o famoso Jockey a ser um êxito. E não há melhor cartão de visita que este, o facto de poder comer os pratos de um bom cozinheiro a um preço acessível. Como o nome indica fica na Calle de Velázquez em pleno bairro de Salamanca, com uma "terraza" acolhedora para os dias mais quentes e um espaço interior refinado ainda que descontraído.

In a lunch with friends we got to know the El Gordo de Velázquez, the restaurant chef José Maria Ibáñez the same who helped the famous jockey to be a success. And there is no better business card than this, that you can eat the dishes of a great cook at an affordable price. As the name implies it is on Calle de Velázquez in Salamanca neighborhood, with a welcoming terrace for warmer days and a refined interior space yet relaxed.

GEORGIANS GARDEN - BATH, INGLATERRA

Tenho uma imensa curiosidade em conhecer uma casa de Bath por dentro, em especial as do The Circus ou do Royal Crescent. Enquanto caminhávamos pela Royal Avenue justamente nas traseiras das casas de The Circus, uma seta indicava a direção de um jardim da época Georgiana, não era um interior de uma casa mas já era algo. Parecia uma daquelas grandes descobertas, um lugar secreto que não estava a ser explorado por mais ninguém, era o jardim do Nº4 que foi remodelado em 1985.

I have an immense curiosity to know a Bath house on the inside, especially at The Circus and the Royal Crescent. As we walked by the Royal Avenue just to the rear of the house of The Circus, an arrow indicating the direction of a garden of the Georgian era, it was not the inside of a house but it was a start. Looked like one of those great discoveries, a secret place that was not being exploited by anyone else, it was the garden of # 4 that was refurbished in 1985.

THE CIRCUS - BATH, INGLATERRA

Antes de chegar ao Royal Crescent passamos pelo The Circus, o nome leva a pensar num circo mas temos que ir ás sua origem latina para saber que é um círculo porque é a forma que tem esta zona de casas construída no século XVIII. São três as ruas que rompem The Circus em três, uma é Gay Street que foi a que subimos para lá chegar, a outra é a Brock Street que nos leva até ao Royal Crescent e por último, está  a Bennett street que dá acesso ao Museu da Moda.

Before arriving at Royal Crescent we passed by The Circus, the name makes you think of a circus (entertainment) but we have to go to its Latin origin to know that is a circle because it is the way that this housing area was built in the eighteenth century. There are three streets that break The Circus into three, one is Gay Street that was the one that we went up to get there, the other is the Brock Street which leads us to the Royal Crescent and last is Bennett street that leads to the fashion museum .
