Hoje Conhecemos...: KENSINGTON GARDENS

É um dos Royal Parks de London e fazia parte dos jardins privados do Palácio de Kensington, onde nasceu a Princesa Vitória e onde após a noticia da morte do seu tio se tornou Rainha. Colado ao Hyde Park é difícil perceber onde um termina e o outro começa, mas o melhor é que tem muito para ver e é o plano ideal para o fim de semana quando queres dar um passeio. São 111 hectares de verde, lagos, esculturas, esplanadas e jardins secretos.

It is one of the Royal Parks of London and was part of the private gardens of Kensington Palace, where Princess Victoria was born and where after the news of the death of his uncle became Queen. Passámos umas três vezes por este parque, em duas delas aproveitámos para descansar no seu relvado, o plano perfeito. Por ter vivido no Kensington Palace, o jardins prestam homenagem á Princesa Diana em dois pontos, um mais a norte com um parque para crianças (onde adultos que não têm crianças não podem entrar) e mais a sul está a fonte que quando fomos já estava fechada e perde o impacto. Durante o Reinado da Rainha Victoria foram construídos o Jardins Italianos onde se encontram quatro fontes e para onde se moveu a Alcova de Queen Anne, a primeira proprietária dos jardins. Ainda no século XIX é construido o Albert Memorial, um incrível monumento dedicado ao marido de Victoria. Há tanto para ver e fazer nestes jardins que se visitas o ideal é dedicar-lhe uma manhã, passear de bicicleta e descubrir a estátua do Peter Pan ou da Physical Energy. A parte que mais gostei foi sem dúvida a que está mais perto do Palácio porque tem jardins quase secretos como o Sunken Garden ou um relvado óptimo para piqueniques em frente ao Orangery onde Queen Anne gostava de fazer as suas refeições de Verão.

The part I enjoyed the most was undoubtedly the one that is closest to the Palace because it has almost secret gardens such as the Sunken Garden or a great lawn for picnics in front of the Orangery where Queen Anne liked to make your summer meals.
