The English version of the Ponte Vecchio in Florence adds charm to Bath, built in the eighteenth century on the Avon River has as its "cousin" Italian a few shops and a small cafe overlooking the river. It seems that there is nothing more romantic than sitting in that narrow place in a coffee table glued to the river and to take afternoon tea accompanied by some scones with jam and butter.
A ponte original foi desenhada por Robert Adam e pedida por William Pulteney que queria tirar partido da grande afluência de pessoas que visitava Bath pelas suas termas. Com o passar dos anos sofreu sucessivas obras de reconstrução e recuperação. Inicialmente não tinha janelas com vista para o rio, a pedido das lojas foram colocadas. Algumas das que encontramos por aqui vendem roupa, antiguidades, flores e até mosaicos.

Over the years it suffered successive works of reconstruction and recovery. Initially we had no windows overlooking the river, but at the request of the stores they were placed. Some of which we found here sell clothes, antiques, flowers and even mosaics.
