eat: ARENA CAFÉ - BIARRITZ, FRANÇA

Os nossos primeiros momentos em Biarritz valem ouro, encontrámos um bom hotel perto da Praia de “Port-Vieux” e nessa mesma praia jantámos na esplanada do restaurante Arena Café, o que nos permitiu apreciar o pôr-do-sol. É excelente para beber um copo ou para comer com as fantásticas cores do crepúsculo.

De entrada pedimos um prato de enchidos onde creio que cometemos um erro, tão perto de Espanha comer enchidos ali…são bons para matar a fome, mas já comemos muito melhor.

Our first moments in Biarritz are worth gold, we found a good hotel near the "Vieux-Port" and on that same beach we had dinner at the terrace of the restaurant Cafe Arena, which allowed us to enjoy the sunset. It is great for a drink or to eat with the fantastic colors of dusk.
To start we ordered a platter of sausages which I believe we made a mistake, so close to Spain eating sausages ... there are good to stave off hunger, but I had much better.

PLACE DE LA BOURSE - BORDÉUS, FRANÇA

Quando planeávamos a nossa "road-trip" a França lembro-me de pesquisar na internet sobre Bordéus e uma das primeiras fotos que vi foi a desta praça. Era uma foto nocturna com o reflexo da praça e do eléctrico no espelho de água que está em frente, sabíamos que tínhamos de passar ali e tentar que a nossa câmara (e os nossos olhos) capturasse a mesma imagen.

O nosso plano só teve um problema, fomos durante o dia e não podíamos ficar para o cair da noite. Uma pena mas a verdade é que conseguimos aproveitar muito bem Bordéus e esta belíssima praça com arquitectura do século XVIII.

When we planned our road-trip to France I remember searching the internet about Bordeaux and one of the first pictures I saw was this square. It was a night photo with the reflection of the square and the tram in the mirror of water that is ahead, we knew we had to go there and try to get our camera (and our eyes) to capture the same image.
Our plan had only one problem, we went there during the day and we could not stay for the evening. A shame but the truth is that we could enjoy Bordeaux and this beautiful square with eighteenth-century architecture.
