Que dizer da praça mais agitada de Roma?

É inevitável, temos que a visitar, nós e todo o mundo. Ficámos com essa sensação de que está demasiado cheia para realmente aproveitar, ver com calma as suas fontes, explorar a sua arquitectura e olhar para os menús dos seus restaurantes.

Durante o dia, artistas ocupam a praça expondo os seus dotes sejam musicais ou de pintura e durante a noite o ritual repete-se acrescentando-lhe mais  e mais vendedores ambulantes que vao fugindo e voltando ao ritmo da passagem da polícia.

 

What can one say about the busiest square in Rome?
Inevitably, we have to visit it, us and the rest of the world. We were left with this feeling that is too full to really enjoy, see calmly their fountains, exploring its architecture and look at the menus of its restaurants.
During the day, artists occupy the square exposing their talents wether they are music or painting, and during the night the ritual is repeated by adding more and more vendors that go running back and forth to the rhythm of the police passing by.

A primeira vez que vimos o Arco de Constantino estávamos ainda a disfrutar da nossa visita ao Coliseu.

O arco triunfal, construído para comemorar a vitória de Constantino sobre Magêncio, imperador contra imperador. Numa altura em que o Império Romano estava dividido, vários imperadores governavam zonas distintas, Magêncio era o imperador de Roma e Constantino de Gália, Hispânia e Bretanha.

 

The first time we saw the Constantine Arch we were still enjoying our tour in the Colosseum.

The triumphal arch, built to commemorate the victory of Constantine over Maxentius, emperor versus emperor. At a time when the Roman Empire was divided, several emperors ruled distinct areas, Maxentius was the emperor of Rome and Constantine was in Gaul, Britain and Hispania.

A escolha do nosso hotel em Roma não foi fácil, grande parte das hipóteses que nos restavam tinham preços elevados ou localizações que não nos interessavam. De várias pesquisas que tínhamos feito não conseguíamos encontrar o hotel ideal para nós até que encontrámos o Le Clarisse e já talvez com uma ponta desespero fizémos uma reserva (umas 48 horas antes da viagem).

 

The choice of our hotel in Rome was not easy, most of what was left had high prices or locations that do not interested us. In several searches we had done we could not find the ideal hotel for us until we found the Le Clarisse and perhaps with a hint desperation we made a reservation (about 48 hours before the trip).
