Fica na Praça 18 de Junho de 1940, muito próximo do hotel onde ficámos (Best Western Aramis) e foi o espaço perfeito para comermos sem grandes deslocações depois de um compensador, mas estafante dia, a passear pela cidade.
Na realidade até procurávamos um local onde comer algo mais simples, uma salada ou do género porque com tantos dias de "road trip" a comer muitas vezes pelo caminho ou a experimentar todo o tipo de delicias culinárias, queríamos algo mais "light".
Located in the Square 18th of June 1940, very close to the hotel where we stayed (Best Western Aramis) and was the perfect place to eat without walking to much after a rewarding but exhausting day of sightseeing.
And also we were looking for a café to eat something simple, a salad or something because with so many days of "road trip" often eating along the way or trying all sorts of culinary delights, we wanted something more light.

Estava um final de tarde espectacular e a esplanada não estava muito cheia o que tornou o jantar ainda mais agradável. Estavam muitos turistas afinal é o típico café parisiense, no entanto percebemos também que estavam muitos locais o que é desde logo um bom sinal.
Pedimos para comer duas saladas, uma para cada um e pedimos uma entrada que quando chegou á mesa, surpresa!!!! Era outra salada. Não sei o que nos levou a escolhê-la mas parecia-nos outra coisa, pensávamos que a mozzarela vinha derretida, enfim...
Foi um excelente engano porque estava óptima, principalmente pelo tempero.
It was a spectacular late afternoon and the terrace was not very crowded which made the dinner more enjoyable. They were many tourists after all this is the typical Parisian cafe, however we also realize that many locals were there what was a good sign.
We asked two salads, we each ordered one and also a started that when arrived at the table, surprise!! It was another salad. I do not know what led us to choose it but it seemed to be something else, we thought the mozzarella was melted, oh well ...
It was a great mistake because it was great, especially the seasoning.

O seu interior era igualmente agradável e este é o tipo de café que evoca o fim do século XIX e principio do XX, ainda que mantendo uma certa modernidade. As cadeiras da esplanada já nem são as tradicionais de palhinha, são de plástico numa excelente imitação do original.
Vieram depois as saladas, realmente o empregado perguntou: "Salada primeiro e salada depois?". Nós acenámos que sim, sem perceber muito bem o que tínhamos aceitado o nosso erro. A salada do marido tinha como ingrediente estrela o foie gras enquanto que a minha era uma mescla de pequenas estrelas como bacon salteado e queijo de cabra panado. Tudo excelente e uma porção tal que não comemos tudo, eram bem servidas as saladas.
Guardámos ainda um espacinho para um crème brûlée, gosto muito desse misto entre o leite creme frio (servem mais fresco do que o nosso) e o caramelo acabado de queimar.

My husband had the salad which star ingredient was foie gras while mine was a mix of small stars like bacon and fried goat cheese. All excellent and a portion such that we couldn't eat everything, the salads were well served.
But we saved a little room for a crème brûlée, I love this mix between milk cold cream (serve cooler than ours) and the caramel just burned.

No final saímos satisfeitos e o preço ficou abaixo dos 40€ para duas pessoas. Nada mau para um jantar em Paris.
At the end we were happy and the price was below 40€ for two. Not bad for a dinner in Paris.
