Para matar saudades de uns bom chá com scones decidimos ir ao Chá da Barra em Oeiras. Fica no centro da vila no complexo do Centro Cultural do Palácio do Egipto (ou Egito), a sua esplanada é uma das mais valias mas o seu interior é bastante acolhedor e do que mais gosto é do tradicional azulejo português a decorar as paredes.

 

To relive memories of a good tea with scones decided to go to the tea bar in Oeiras. It is in the town center in the complex of the Cultural Centre of the Palace of Egypt, its terrace is one of the high points but inside is very cozy and what I like most is the traditional Portuguese tile decorating the walls.

O dia não estava solarengo quando visitámos o parque mas esta não foi a primeira vez que aqui estivémos e passear por ele é sempre um prazer. Um jardim dedicado a vários poetas portugueses que marcaram a história da poesia no nosso país. A ideia nasceu de um conceito de David Mourão Ferreira e do escultor Francisco Simões.

The day was not sunny when we visited the park but this was not the first time we were here and walking through it is always a pleasure. A garden dedicated to various Portuguese poets that marked the history of poetry in our country. The idea came from a concept by David Mourao Ferreira and the sculptor Francisco Simões.

Quando entrei neste jardim pela primeira vez pensei que tinha estava a viver a história daquele filme de "O Jardim Secreto". Passei tantas vezes á sua porta sem nunca realmente perceber a sua dimensão e encanto.

Foi um amigo nosso que nos recomendou, agora que temos um filho estamos sempre há procura de espaços verdes onde passear com ele, brincar á vontade, etc.. Disse-nos que tínhamos que entrar por uma pequena porta de um posto de informações, quando o fizémos estávamos ainda cépticos sobre o que íamos encontrar. E eis que uma segunda porta nos leva ao imenso jardim que está junto ao Palácio do Marquês de Pombal e da Câmara Municipal de Oeiras.

When I first walked in this garden I thought I was living the story of the movie "The Secret Garden". I spent many times at it's door without ever really noticing it's size and charm.
It was a friend who recommended us, now we have a son we are always looking for green spaces to take him for a walk, playing at will, etc. .. He told us that we had to enter through a small door of an information desk and we were still skeptical about what we would find. And behold, a door leads to another and then the huge garden which is next to the Palace of the Marquis of Pombal and the Oeiras City Council.
