What can one say about the busiest square in Rome?
Inevitably, we have to visit it, us and the rest of the world. We were left with this feeling that is too full to really enjoy, see calmly their fountains, exploring its architecture and look at the menus of its restaurants.
During the day, artists occupy the square exposing their talents wether they are music or painting, and during the night the ritual is repeated by adding more and more vendors that go running back and forth to the rhythm of the police passing by.

One reason for the "pilgrimage" to Navona is undoubtedly it's fountains, wonderful during the day, extraordinary at night. The most central is the Fountain of the Four Rivers crowned with an obelisk, then at each side you have the Neptune Fountain (north) and Moro fountain (south).
We tried the best we could to walk within the square, looking for a restaurant there, something that proved to be a mistake since Rome has so many other places where you can eat and I believe that almost all the best, we have committed the fatal error of tourists but we were hungry and it commanded both the mind and stomach.

We chose Ai Tre Tartufi, in front of it two musicians playing guitars were playing Bossa Nova, it seemed the perfect environment though not very typical as Brazilian music was not obviously from the area. We order some fresh Lambrusco and as a starter the famous brusqueta tomato, I wonder how it was posible that it wasn't delicious? Something so basic ...

We were still hopeful with the dishes we ordered, I'd risotto with parmesan and strawberries (I thought the concept was original), the husband a spaguetti "al pomodoro" (simple thing). We realized quickly that we had made a mistake, the food looked like home cooked food but not in a good way, but as we got home and cooked something at chance. In the end we paid about 65 € without dessert and with much regret ...
