A Rue des Bouchers é talvez a mais conhecida de Bruxelas para encontrar um restaurante e comer as famosas "moules" (mexilhão), como em tudo tem pontos positivos e pontos negativos. A estreita rua enche-se de turistas e os restaurantes expõem nas suas montras o seu marisco, colocando empregados a "venderem" a ementa. Não começamos bem, diz a regra que se tem que te chamar para comer é porque alguma coisa se passará...
The Rue des Bouchers is perhaps the best known from Brussels to find a restaurant and eat the famous "moules" (mussels), as in everything it has positives and negatives. The narrow street is filled with tourists and restaurants display in the Windows their seafood, putting their employees to "sell" the menu. This did not start well, the rule says that if one has to call you to eat it's because something is wrong ...
Nós levávamos uma recomendação o que acaba por ser tranquilizante porque podemos passar a porta da entrada com maior confiança. A recomendação era um que ficava numa esquina o Aux Armes des Bruxelles. Entramos e estava quase cheio o que já era um bom sinal. Tinham duas salas, a do lado direito que foi a que ficámos tinha uma decoração simples, a do lado esquerdo era mais requintada com melhor ambiente mas estava cheia.
We took with us a recommendation which turns out to be reassuring because we can pass the entrance door with greater confidence. The recommendation was one that was in a corner of this Street the Aux Armes de Bruxelles. Walked in and it was nearly filled what was already a good sign. They had two rooms, the right side that where we were had a simple decoration, the left side was more refined with better environment but it was full.
Ficámos numa pequena mesa onde tínhamos que pedir aos vizinhos do lado para entrar, mas ninguém se complica com isso parece normal que acontece, todos se ajeitam para que mais alguém entre.
A ementa também vinha em inglês, ajudava mas dada a rica elaboração dos pratos complicava a escolha. Para entrada pedimos os "moules gratin", vir a Bruxelas e não comer mexilhões parecia crime assim que pedimos uma versão que pudéssemos comer já que não somos apreciadores.

Estavam óptimos. Para prato principal um Magret de Pato e um Voul au vent de Frango, não fomos originais bem sabemos para era dificil escolher e mais ainda comunicar com o empregado para pedir uma recomendação, assim que comemos muito bem os dois pratos que pedimos e o de frango era tão generoso que não consegui comer tudo.
Não faltaram as "frites" (batatas fritas) como acompanhamento.
They were great. For main course a Magret of Duck and Chicken Voul au vent, we were not original we know it was hard to pick and further communicate with the employee to ask for a recommendation, so we ate very well the two dishes we ordered, the chicken was so generous that I could not eat it all.

Para sobremesa não resistimos a pedir um Créme Brulée, depois de tanto gratinado e molhos pesados sabe muito bem comer algo muito que se serve fresco.
For dessert we could not resist ordering a Créme Brulée, after such heavy sauces and gratins if felt right to eat something that it's served very fresh.
O preço foi elevado (ou não se consideramos o tipo de restaurante) pagámos 35€ por pessoa sem beber vinho de garrafa, pediu-se só um copo de Rosé.
Notámos que muitos dos que ali estavam pareciam locais pela maneira como falavam com os empregados o que significa que nem tudo é uma armadilha turística na Rue des Bouchers e que bons restaurantes continuam a representar a boa gastronomia pela qual a rua veio a ser conhecida.
The price was high (or not if we consider the type of restaurant) we paid € 35 per person without drinking a bottle of wine, we only ordered a glass of Rosé.
We noticed that many of the costumers were locals by the way they spoke with employees which means that not everything is a tourist trap in the Rue des Bouchers and good restaurants continue to represent the good food by which the road came to be known.
