Located north of the Louvre, the Royal Palace is now the seat of the Council of State but since it was built in the seventeenth century that important figures in French history were in it including Cardinal Richelieu. In fact prior to the Palais-Royal it was the Palais-Cardinal.
Over the centuries it had various uses, after the death of Cardinal Richelieu it was the residence of the young future King Louis XIV of France. Later in the Orleans era was the stage of luxurious parties and a gambling site, which continued to work until the nineteenth century when it became the seat of the Council of State. In one part of the palace is the Ministry of Culture.
At the center is a fountain and around it we can see many Parisians enjoying the good weather and some quiet while reading a book. In the background we see the Galleries of Valois and opposite the Galleries Montpensier. There are still the Galleries Beaujolais that are located at the bottom of the garden. At the end of our walk through the garden we see a photo shoot for a fashion magazine, something common in what is considered one of its world capitals.

The garden that we see today is smaller than the original that was built by Richeliu, it is surrounded by the Galleries where today you can see stores of luxury brands, art galleries among others.
