I was very curious to step on the Walk of Fame from Madrid - the spanish version of the famous one in Hollywood - that is on Calle Martín de los Heros next to Calle Princesa.
My expectation was high and in my head I had visualized a walk with dark marble like a starry sky where bigger star would be highlighting each honored artist.
Where was I getting this idea?

So from Plaza de Cubos I enter the Martín de los Heros, I start walking looking for that dark starry sky in the floor...without knowing that I already passed by three stars it is when I saw António Banderas that I realised that was it.
It is therefore more discret than the Hollywood famous walk, in reality with the golden years the spanish entertainment is having with recognized artists all over the world (Cruz, Bardem, Banderas and great group of directors) I thought they deserved something closer to what I imagined.
Still it is great that they have decided to do it and in the best location, you could ask why it isn't in a more busy street in the city but Martín de los Heros is the place too be when it comes to movies for example. In it and around you find a great deal of movie theathers that show the original versions and also have more alternative movies.
That is the case of the Renoir and also you will find "Ocho e medio" (eight and a half) that is a movie dedicated library with a coffee shop inside.

There are 25 stars in the walk of fame they also celebrate the 25 years of the Spanish movies academy. At it's opening there were some of them present like Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem and also directors Alejandro Amenábar (who made two movies I love "The Others" and "Ágora") and Pedro Almodóvar.

It might lack Hollywood's glamour but it is another landmark to visit in the city and of great significance to the area itself.
