Não é difícil encontrar o mítico Bremer Ratskeller, basta procurar os Músicos ou o edificio antigo da Câmara Municipal e encontramos este restaurante. Construído no século XV é na realidade uma adega que guardou durante anos alguns dos melhores vinhos da região e ainda hoje guarda uma pipa de Rüdesheim do século XVII.
It is not difficult to find the mythical Bremer Ratskeller, just search the musicians or the old building of the Town Hall and found this restaurant. Chegámos para o último turno, o das 20h15. A sala é ampla e conta com uns espaços privados para comer a que chamam Priölken, umas mesas num cubículos que me pareciam confessionários. Dizem que só se podem fechar as portas se são mais de duas pessoas a comer naquele espaço.
Tivémos a sorte de ter ido com uma pessoa que falava a alemão porque o pedido foi algo complicado e os empregados não são própriamente simpáticos (o nosso não era). Como ia com um grupo pedimos duas "palatine tarte" (Flammekuchen) para partilhar. São o mesmo que comemos em Estrasburgo e a que chamavam tarte flambée. Pedimos uma com cogumelos e a outra bacon, estavam as duas óptimas com uma base bastante estaladiça.
Depois pedimos uns pratos de Entrecote e também um prato de carne de porco e perú grelhadas com feijões salteados, batatas assadas e o molho "Hollandaise". Para acompanhar cerveja em caneca grande.
Pedimos ainda sobremesas para partilhar mas eu já não fui capaz de comer mais nada, a comida estava óptima mas eu estava cheia. Não fui eu a pagar a conta mas sei que ficou á volta de 30€ por pessoa o que não foi mau preço (tendo em conta o que comemos e onde estávamos) mas não bebemos vinho.
We came to the last shift, the 20h15. The dinning room is spacious and has a private space to eat they call Priölken, some tables in cubicles that seemed like confessionals. They say it can only be closed if there are more than two people to eat in that space.
We were lucky to have gone with a person who spoke German because the order was something complicated and the employees were not quite friendly (ours was not). As I was with a group we ordered two "palatine pie" (Flammekuchen) to share. They are the same we tasted in Strasbourg and they called tarte Flambé. We ordered one with mushrooms and another with bacon, the two were great and the base was quite crispy.
Then we order some Entrecote dishes and also a plate of pork and beans sautéed with grilled turkey, roast potatoes and "Hollandaise" gravy. To accompany our food a big beer mug.
We also ordered desserts to share but I have not been able to eat anything else, the food was great but I was full. I did not pay the bill but I know that it was around € 30 per person which was not bad price (taking into account what we eat and where we were) but we do not drink wine.
