Se tivesse que escolher qual o meu lugar preferido em Munique este talvez seria o escolhido porque o Viktualienmarkt permite fazer de tudo um pouco: comer, beber, comprar e conviver. É uma experiência completa num só local.
Está aberto todos os dias e as suas barracas vendem de tudo um pouco: legumes, fruta, queijo, "picles" que os locais adoram, enchidos regionais, artesanato, mel, vinho, etc..
If I had to choose what is my favorite place in Munich this may be the chosen one because the Viktualienmarkt allows you do a bit of everything: eat, drink, shop and socialize. It is a complete experience in one place.

E o melhor da experiência é andar e escolher o que podemos petiscar ali mesmo no mercado. Estão umas mesas montadas e um bar que te vende a cerveja e os pretzels. Numa bancada comprámos uma salada de tomate e mozzarella, umas azeitonas óptimas com azeite, alho e ervas aromáticas e também um queijo (tipo Philadelphia) misturado com mangericão para comer com o pretzel, uma ideia que copiei de uma mesa que estava a comer algo semelhante e a beber um copo de vinho, provavelmente de uma das lojas que vimos a vender. Almoçámos os dois por quinze euros o que é de facto imbatível.
Além disso ainda ficámos á conversa com um casal de alemães que viviam perto de Dortmund e estavam em Munique para visitar o filho. O futebol ajudou a quebrar o gelo, mas depois deram-nos dicas de coisas a visitar e falavam do seu ritual de vir ao Viktualienmarkt tomar uma cerveja e comer um pretzel.
And the best part of the experience is walking through it and choose what we can snack right there on the market. There are some tables there and a bar that sells you beer and pretzels. In a another stall we bought a salad of tomato and mozzarella, some great olives with olive oil, garlic and herbs and also a cheese (Philadelphia type) mixed with basil to eat with the pretzel, an idea I copied from a table where they were eating something similar and drinking a glass of wine, probably from one of the shops we saw selling it. We had lunch for fifteen euros (two people) which is indeed unbeatable.
Also we were chatting with a German couple who lived near Dortmund in Munich and were there visiting their son. Football helped us break the ice, but then they started to give us tips on things to see and spoke about their Viktualienmarkt ritual where they come to have a beer and eat a pretzel.
