I can open a thousand of guides on Morocco that the first they recommend everyone is to take a walk through the Medina that has the Jemaa El Fna Square as a starting point. Bustling and colorful I can not say it's the most beautiful square I have seen, it's charm is not on an architecture perspective but for the life it has and that is why UNESCO wants to protect it.
And if during the day you see a crowd of people just wait for nightfall to really understand the true entertainment in Marrakech is not sitting on a couch watching TV but here, to attend any of the nightly "shows" that offered by storytellers, musicians, etc...

Apart from animation and shops, the square is famous for its stands of fresh orange juice , we had ours from stall 52. Around it restaurants and very crowded terraces like the Glacier Café, Café de France or the Toubkal famous for its local food at affordable prices.
When the sun loses its power they begin to prepare the stalls to serve food, to eat in the square is another of the great pleasures of visiting it, the smoke, the smell of fried and grilled serves as a guide to those who are lost. There are many who do not recommend eating in these places, for example I always did and never had problems but that topic is for another post.
