Aproveitámos para sair mais cedo numa sexta-feira para ir ao museu CaixaForum que fica perto do Paseo del Prado e que faz parte de um grupo de museus que incluem o Thyssen, o Prado e o Reina Sofia que completam a oferta cultural concentrando-se a poucos passos uns dos outros. Foi inaugurado em 2008 e é um espaço que promove exposições temporais como as duas que fomos ver: Pixar e Génesis de Sebastião Salgado.
I took an opportunity to leave early on a Friday to go to the CaixaForum museum that is located in the Paseo del Prado and is part of a group of museums that include the Thyssen, Prado and Reina Sofia to complete the cultural offer concentrated just steps of each other. O edificio era uma antiga central eléctrica do principio do século XX e foi restaurado em 2002 para o transformar num museu. É um excelente obra de arquitectura onde se procurou conservar o antigo aportando algo de novo e funcional. As entradas custaram 4€ por pessoa e chegámos muito em cima da hora de fecho por isso tivémos que ver as exposições a correr. Gostámos das duas que vimos e é sem dúvida um espaço em que há que seguir a sua agenda porque têm exposições interessantes, a da Pixar que celebra 25 anos, estava bem estruturada e vale a pena visitar para conhecer o processo de produção de um filme de animação. Génesis era uma exposição de fotografía do brasileiro Sebastião Salgado com imagens extraordinárias da Amazónia, da Patagónia, etc..
The building was a former powerhouse of the XX century and was restored in 2002 to transform it into a museum. It's a great work of architecture which sought to preserve the old contributing something new and functional. Entries cost € 4 per person and we arrived almost at closing time so we had to see the exhibits running. We liked what we saw of the two and is certainly a museum in which you have to follow it's schedule because they have interesting exhibits, the Pixar celebrating 25 years, was well structured and well worth a visit to learn about the process of producing an animation film. Genesis was an exhibition of photography of the Brazilian Sebastião Salgado with extraordinary images of Amazonia, Patagonia, etc..

Esse é dos lugares em Madrid que ainda tenho pendente ir... Em janeiro tive na porta... mas nao consegui convencer o meu namorado a entrar... depois de 4 horas no Museu do Prado era impossivel fazê-lo entrar noutro museu ;) fica pra a a próxima...

Recomendo ir quando gostes de uma das exposições temporárias, o edificio é interesante por dentro mas é relativamente pequeno. Eu fui ver estas duas exposições e gostei bastante. Bjs
