Tinha algumas recomendações de restaurantes e o Méson Asador Carmelo era um deles. Fomos cedo para poder estar no Castelo de Belmonte por volta das quatro da tarde e ao entrar ficamos surpreendidos sua bela sala instalada no pátio de uma casa do século XVIII renovada em 1999. A palavra "asador" prometia boa carne na brasa e a carta tinha muitos dos pratos típicos da região.
Had some restaurant recommendations and the Meson Asador Carmelo was one of them. We went early to be at the Castle of Belmonte around four in the afternoon and when we got in we were surprised with it's beautiful room installed in the courtyard of an eighteenth century house renovated in 1999. The word "asador" promised good barbecue meat and the menú had many of the typical dishes of the region.
Pedimos um menú que ficava por 28,5€ por pessoa, o primeiro prato traz enchidos da região incluído o queijo manchego. Um segundo prato era de degustação de receitas típicas de La Mancha com queijo manchego frito, o "pisto manchego" - verduras salteadas com molho de tomate, o "duelos y quebrantos" - ovos mexidos com chouriço e toucinho e uma salada de "capón" (frango do curral). Por esta altura já estávamos satisfeitos mas o menú incluía um prato de carne ou peixe á escolha que no nosso caso foi o entrecote.
A juntar a tudo isto a sobremesa também estava incluída e pedimos a Crema de Pastor para provar, estava óptima mas não consegui comer muito porque os miúdos também queriam provar. O Méson Carmelo foi uma boa experiência sem ser particularmente extraordinário, comemos bem e a um preço razoável.
We asked for a menu which was 28,5€ per person, the first dish was some cured meats including manchego cheese. A second dish was a tasting of the typical recipes of La Mancha with fried manchego cheese, "pisto manchego" - sautéed vegetables with tomato sauce, the "Duelos y Quebrantos" - scrambled eggs with chorizo and bacon and a salad of "Capón" (chicken of the corral). By now we were satisfied but the menú also included a dish of meat or fish will choose which in our case was the entrecote.
Added to all this the dessert was also included and asked for a Crema de Pastor, it was fine but I could not eat much because the kids also wanted to taste it. The Méson Carmelo was a good experience without being particularly extraordinary, we ate well and at a reasonable price.
