One thing is certain, it is easy to get lost here through streets, alleys, bridges and canals, but we used the map little or nothing and we ended up going in the right direction. We had a map of the hotel which was quite good, the main arteries were highlighted in yellow. We entered the Castello area and had lunch in a tasquita Campo Bandiera and Moro, but we had some tourists away from the confusion that we saw earlier.
We had a calzone, a spaghetti bolognese and an "anti-pasti" formed by squids, prawns and octopus.
The food was good but it was not fantastic, the fact that the square was very interesting made up for it, with a small church and a hotel with that Venetian charm.
Then we tried to "lose ourselves" in Venice this case it was more in the Castello district. We walked a bit aimlessly. We passed by bridges, alleys and side streets, squares of various sizes, colorful buildings, shops and many other things. Still there are areas where we can walk without a sea of people in the middle, if you "run away" from Piazza San Marco and the banks of the Grand Canal, we can find some peace and tranquility along the narrow streets of Venice.

The Castello is one of the largest "Sestière" in Venice and we ended up not seeing it all. Anyway we left with a bit of his essence, his soul a little more decadent and less touristy, so it becomes so appealing because it is more authentic.
