We left the "casco antiguo" (old town) to see the Roman bridge built in the third century over the Rio Tormes.
Before you come to the bridge on the left side there was a monument dedicated to "Lazarillo de Tormes" which is a sixteenth-century novel narrated in the first-person and tell's the story of Lazarillo's life, from childhood until his adulthood. No one knows who wrote it some say it may have been a brother from Salamanca and so this tribute.

Right beside the Church of St. James the twelfth century, was built as a parish for Mozárabes, which was the name given to Christians who lived under the rule of Muslims. On it's patio it had installed a skate park, the location is the original for us so say the least, a church and a skateboard park ... weird!

Through the brigdes passes the Tormes, a tributary of the Douro river that in this area is not very large. The bridge is big and the truth is it can be a good place to enjoy the view of the Cathedral of Salamanca or simply enjoy the river.
