We went after going to the Rastro market, in a time where the nearby bars fill with people to eat or just have a drink before lunch. Getting in is a complicated process, the counter was full and it is not very big and we got surprised to be able to get a little table ... it helped being only two.

It is not cheap and it is a place that is trendy (or remains), the tortilla tapa costs 4 € (each) and I must say not caught in their best days, they served us was very cold (ice !) and very salty, which didn't allowed to recognize this explosion of flavors that everyone praises of the eggs with caramelized onions and potatoes cooked to the point. A pity!
We chose two more tapas, one was the Soft Shell Crab - pieces of crab in tempura with a special mayonnaise and a chinese bread. It was good at least it was something original that is also one of the credentials of Juana La Loca. And then we order the "cuchinillo" (pig) and it was another option that did not go well, I would say it was our fault because something so specific should be assessed on specialized places. It was not bad but was not great and at the price we expected something better.

I had read in various forums some people complain about the service, we may have picked a bad day for the "tortilla" but a good one for the employees because they were all friendly and very quick to serve and you understand why, there are lots of people waiting to have a seat at the counter or at the tables so they are pressured to "hurry." Not a place to be eating for two hours (though you can do it) because it was so noisy and small, its a tapas bar whose menu says: "con-prisa" (in a hurry)!

In the end we paid 40€, an heavy tab for a "pintxos + raciones" bar but we already knew it and once it's ok. We didn't left with an empty stomach and we left some room for dessert: "churros" with hot chocolat in San Ginés.
