When preparing to travel to Florence I browsed my favorite blogs looking for tips of places to eat, one of them talked about the Grom ice cream, how they were the best in town. They are very close to the Duomo and sufficiently hidden to help us escape the crowds, though in summer say no queue to enter.
At first glance it looks like an normal ice cream parlor and then you begin to see original flavors in the big sign, I looked for the strawberry - "fragola", looked and looked and nothing. And no wonder. Hmm .. I look again at the picture and say, "Pistacchio and ..." I think a little, I do not see anything jump in sight until "al Caramello sale". Did I just ordered that?
After beginning to see photographs of a farm I understand that it is not just a ice cream parlor, it's a business concept that respects the seasons of its ingredients (and at that time there was no good strawberries presume) and works with environmentally friendly products.
I have a taste at the Caramello al Sale, it's creamy like a good Italian ice cream but the best was the Pistacchio, the flavor was like if I was eating them, equally intense.
Each cone with two flavors costs € 2.5 and I would comeback more often without a doubt. I do not know if these are the best of Florence but is certainly one not to miss.
