Durante a minha estadia em Valletta, foi neste hotel que passei grande parte do meu tempo. Fiquei por quatro noites para uma reunião da empresa onde trabalho, isto significa que não foi uma escolha minha e que acabei por não aproveitar tudo o que tinha para oferecer.
Tinha pontos positivos e negativos, os positivos eram a sua localização porque está a menos de dez minutos a pé do centro da cidade, os quartos são grandes e tem uma vista privilegiada para Ta Xbiex e Manoel Island (Ilha de Manuel dedicada a um grão-mestre português).
During my stay in Valletta, this hotel was where I spent much of my time. I stayed for four nights for a meeting of the company I work for, this means that it was not my choice and I ended up not enjoy all it had to offer.
It had some positive and negative points, the positive were its location because it is less than a ten minute walk from the city center, the rooms were quite big and it had a privileged view of Ta Xbiex and Manoel Island (Island Manuel dedicated to a grain-master Portuguese).

Ainda falando dos positivos, o pequeno-almoço era servido de um grande salão onde podias apreciar as tais vistas de que falei antes além de que em comida era bastante variada. Nele podias provar os famosos "pastizz" (Wikipedia), pastéis de massa folhada recheados com queijo. Além disso e sendo um hotel grande tinha Wi-fi gratuito, no caso do meu quarto eu conseguia aceder mas colegas meus queixaram-se que não conseguiam.
A piscina pouco aproveitámos (e o tempo também não o permitia) e tinha um SPA cujo preço médio das massagens rondava os 85€.
Still speaking of positive, breakfast was served in a large hall where you could enjoy the views of those I mentioned earlier and in addition the food was quite varied. In it you could taste the famous "pastizz" (Wikipedia), phyllo dough pastries filled with cheese. Besides being a great hotel and had Wi-Fi, in the case of my room but I could access my colleagues complained that they could not.
We didn't take advantage of the pool (and the weather did not allow it) and it had a SPA where the average price of the massage was around € 85.

No lado negativo, fiquei com a sensação de que não era bem um hotel de cinco estrelas, há algo que para mim é um fundamental num hotel de topo que vai mais além do luxo das suas divisões, do tamanho dos quartos, dos serviços de SPA e chama-se atendimento. Foi péssimo.
Primeiro fazem-te pagar em adiantado com cartão de crédito (125€ por noite) e como não chega que pagaste já tudo antes sequer de dormir no hotel ainda te pedem para bloquear 200€ no cartão de crédito como uma caução!?!?? Todo este processo faz com que cada check-in seja um pesadelo e demoras demasiado tempo. Depois ao sair tivémos imensos problemas com um taxi que pedimos ao serviço de transportes do hotel. Marcámos um para duas pessoas e eles cobraram-nos três, quando pedes para que na recepção falem directamente com a parte de transportes dizem que não têm nada que ver com isso que vás tu e ainda com pouca simpatia, ou seja num hotel de cinco estrelas se tens um problema resolves tu. Mesmo depois de reclamar o erro que eles cometeram pagámos dois táxis em vez de um e ainda olham para ti com um ar de que deverias ter pago os três. Se voltar a Valletta aqui não fico de certeza, mas porque a minha experiência foi má não significa que o seja para outras pessoas.
On the negative side, I got the feeling that this was not quite a five-star hotel, there is something that for me is a key to a top hotel that goes beyond the luxury of its rooms, size, SPA services and it's called customer service. It was awful.
First they make you pay in advance by credit card (€ 125 per night) and because paying everything already before you even slept in the hotel isn't enough they even ask you to block € 200 on your credit card as a deposit!?!? This whole process makes every check-in a nightmare and delays it for too long. After coming out we had huge problems with a taxi we asked the hotel shuttle service. We booked one to two people and they charged us three, when you ask for it at reception to speak directly with the transport they say they have nothing to do with it is you that should go and with little sympathy, this means that in a five-star hotel you solve your own problems. Even after making a claim about the mistake they did we paid for two taxis instead of one and still they look at you like you should have paid three. If returning to Valletta I will never come here, but because my experience was bad it doesn't mean it will be for others.
