After our adventure through Lisbon with GoCar, we had dinner in The Decadente. It was not the first time but this was undoubtedly better experience than the first and I think that was because this time was accompanied by Spaniards that are big fans of sharing ("compartir") which allowed me to sample more dishes of this more than recommended restaurant recommended in the travel guide of Louis Vuitton.
Located in the hostel the Independent, the Decadent has a bar which is where we passed by before getting into the restaurant. The retro decor creates a pleasant atmosphere and is undoubtedly a very busy place so it is advisable to book a table place.
As for the food, I can tell you it was very good and the dishes that would make me come back again and again (in my opinion) are the Mafra bread with garlic butter and the best steak of the Miradouro (picanha). The rest we orderes like the Couscous Nest or Tagliatelli with the salmon were good but I got the feeling that I ate well but not enough (and I speak not of quantity) for what they charge. We also asked the Pica-pau (beef cut in slices fried with olive oil and garlic) whose meat quality is undeniable but lacked more flavor.
Ordered three desserts to share a Petit Decadent that was good, a T'Inês carrot cake that seemed the most boring of the three. Also ordered a Crème de Outono (Autumn Crème) a chestnut crème brulée that was the real revelation.
