Descobrimos o Serrote graças ao Guia Restaurantes do Correio da Manhã (uma excelente compra por 9€), nele recomendavam as migas de espargos com carne grelhada uma das especialidades da casa e que estava na ementa mas eu prefiro as migas tradicionais e foi o que pedi com entrecosto frito. Mas antes ainda pedimos chouriço e queijo que estavam tão bons que queríamos mais.
Discovered the Serrote thanks to the Correio da Manhã Restaurants Guide Restaurants (an excellent buy for 9 €), it recommended the creamed asparagus with grilled meat as one of the specialties of the house and was on the menu but I prefered the traditional "migas" (soaked bread crumbs mixed with garlic and olive oil) and I was what I ordered with the fried ribs. But even before, we ordered chorizo and cheese that were so good we wanted more.
Pedimos também um Arroz de Pato ao qual só faltava umas rodelinhas de chouriço para ser perfeito, porque de resto estava muito saboroso sem estar seco o que pode acontecer neste tipo de prato.
Para sobremesa pedi Encharcada, composta apenas por ovos, açúcar e um toque de canela á qual sugeriu o dono do restaurante adicionar uma rodela de ananás para que não fosse tão enjoativo. Tenho que admitir que ao principio a ideia não casava na mina cabeça mas o resultado foi delicioso.
O Serrote já está na nossa lista de restaurantes a visitar quando fazemos as nossas viagens Madrid-Lisboa principalmente porque no final ficou a 15€ por pessoa, com doses generosas e comida de qualidade.
Also ordered a Duck Rice only lacked some small slices of chorizo to be perfect, because the rest was very flavorful without being dry, which can happen in this type of dish.
For dessert we ordered a "Encharcada", composed only of eggs, sugar and a touch of cinnamon which was suggested by the restaurant owner to add a slice of pineapple so it was not so sweet. I have to admit that at first the idea could not marry in my head but the result was delicious.
