There are some Praias do Forte (Fort Beach) in Brazil, I believe there is one at Natal for example, this one we visited is in Bahia.
Once we arrived we realized we were in a place for tourist, right at the entrance there is a Ecoresort and the streets are mostly urbanized with recent construction to accommodate tourists.
We parked near one of these settlements and walked about 150 meters to get to the beach itself. This particular beach is not very big but the coast is quite large and there are other options around.

The water was great and one thing we noticed, in this beach Brazilians do not put a towel on the floor, they occupy chairs in a terrace, drinking a "cold one" and there are they just sunbathe. Perhaps because concession areas, I don't quite understand why. The truth is that out of these áreas there are fewer people, all with the towel in the sand ...
Here our group split up, some arrived later and only got together in the most famous area of Praia de Forte, the shopping streets.
My husband and I had lunch here in one of the many restaurants there are in this area, all looked great. Some with fast food for those who want to enjoy the beach, but there were others with barbecue and even Italian. There were also all prices.

As for shops there is a bit of everything in reality this is a good "shopping" outdoors. Some known Brazilian brands have a store here but the biggest demand is for Havaianas (flip flops) and the famous Brazilian bikinis. I also did some shopping, I bought things that were not exactly bargains, I do thinl they take some advantage of the location.
I was quite impressed with Praia do Forte, if I do another vacation in Brazil, I would be here in a few days "dolce fare niente".
