Não é a primeira vez que jantamos num Peggy Sue mas é a primeira que comemos neste em Majadahonda, perto do nosso "bairro" tanto que até fomos a pé. Demorámos uns vinte minutos (não é assim tão perto eu sei) a chegar mas íamos com um apetite feroz.
Algumas coisas mudaram no Peggy Sue desde a nossa primeira visita em Madrid (ler aquí), a Peggy está um pouco mais moderna mas o conceito e o interior dos restaurantes continua fiel aos dinners dos anos 50.
It is not the first time we dined in Peggy Sue but is the first to eat in this one in Majadahonda near our "neighborhood" so close that we walked there. It took us about twenty minutes (it's not that close I know) to get there but we arrived with a ferocious appetite.

Não ficámos numa mesa de Jukebox mas nem era preciso, apanhamos sempre as mesmas músicas e uma das que mais ouvimos quando lá vamos (mesmo sem escolher) é a (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction dos Rolling Stones o que não deixa de ser irónico porque estás num restaurante e deverias ter alguma satisfação em comer ali.
Mudaram o esquema dos hambuguers, estão um pouco mais caros mas funcionam com escolhas: primeiro a carne, depois três ingredientes (entre queijos, alface, tomate, cebola, etc..) e um molho á escolha. Já não pedes um Aretha ou o James Brown mas no fundo vai dar ao mesmo.
Pedimos batatas e uma salada coleslaw á parte. Tenho que dizer que achei o meu hamburguer seco, parece-me que a Peggy Sue não estava nos seus melhores días. A simpatia continua lá e o delicioso New York Cheese Cake também.
No final pagámos 33€ para duas pessoas: dois hambuguers, dois acompanhamentos e duas sobremesas.
We did not get a table with a Jukebox but it was not necessary, we end up listening to the same songs and one that we hear whenever we go there (even without choosing) is (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction by the Rolling Stones which is nonetheless ironic because you're in a restaurant and you should have some satisfaction in eating there.
