With the fashionable restaurants of "petiscos" (smaller portions of food like tapas) in the capital, Cascais was missing a nice place where one could eat well and hangout with friends around classics like eggs with sausage, "moelas", roast black pudding, potato chips, etc. .. It was missing, but that was the past. Now there is the Páteo do Petisco that seems hard to find but we got there we discovered it very close to Birre.
On the wall we can see the menu and from it we chose the eggs with sausage (since we took the list as required), "pica pau" (small strips of beef with garlic and pickles sauce) and fried cuttlefish. Upon arrival we ate a few sausage ("alheira") croquettes and black pudding they were great and definitely worth a try. After the first "petiscos" started to gain place at our table, I must confess that I was not a fan of the "pica pau", it had too many pickles which made them bitter. But the eggs were cooked perfectly and the cuttlefish was very tender. For those who did not want snacks, they ordered a Bife á Páteo which is a sirloin steak, tender with a stout sauce.
Through the iPede (a small prank of the Páteo) we chose the desserts, I ordered the chocolate cake that covered in mousse and it was great. It was 16 € per person, found quite cheap if we consider that it was with wine and we all ordered dessert.
