There were several the times I passed by the Michigan Avenue better known as the Magnificent Mile, in a way it was my reference point to guide me through the city. The avenue is quite big but the Magnificient Mile refers only to north part of the Chicago River and begins after the Du Sable Bridge going as far as the John Hancock Tower. There are several emblematic buildings that we can see here but its biggest attractions are the shops that even with the cold invite to walk in the Street.
One of the first buildings which I entered was the Wrigley Building built for the offices of Wrigley gum manufacturer, today no one from the company works there they moved to a facility in the north of the city. Then on the opposite side is the Tribune Tower built with fragments of various European monuments and where today is the Chicago Tribune.
Another of the most emblematic areas of the street is the Water Tower a tower built in the nineteenth century before the Great Fire of Chicago, with a Gothic architectural style that stands out from the buildings that surround it all already quite modern. We then pass by the Fourth Presbyterian church that has a very quiet courtyard and where you can escape the Magnificent Mile if it begins to be full of people. In front is the John Hancock Center also known as Big John with three hundred and forty meters high.
